Fancy Bingo at Boundary Bay

On Tuesday, August 21st the Whatcom Literacy Council was the lucky recipient of the proceeds from “Fancy Bingo”, an event coordinated by Glitt3r Lyfe, in partnership with Boundary Bay Brewery.  It took place in Boundary Bay’s Mountain Room, the big open room that is accessed off the alley via East Maple Street.  There they have an old bingo machine, which is like a wooden desk that spits out the wee plastic balls with the bingo numbers of them.  The balls are put in a grid on the top of the desk, which triggers the lit up bingo board on the wall.  Aireekah, the Glitt3r Lyfe coordinator, facilitated the evening dressed in a rainbow wig with a unicorn horn, embedding each game with trivia, “bingo lingo”, and a good dose of humor.  Because it was “Fancy Bingo” guests came decked out, with outfits ranging from ties over t-shirts to fancy gowns, wigs, and tiaras.  The room was packed!  Each game winner got to choose from an array of prizes, with special drawings throughout the night.  It was truly an EXPERIENCE and lots of fun!  A big thank you to all of the sponsors for the evening, and to all of the folks who came to the party.  All of the proceeds go to the adult literacy programs we offer here in Whatcom County.
